Write-a-thon Update

Up until today, in which I melted, the write-a-thon has keeping me on track with the novel revision/trim/edit.

Right now I would describe the process as somewhat like combing the cats--they don't really like it and at each stroke you only get out a few excess hairs but if you keep at it they start to almost enjoy it and they do look significantly cleaner. And you do finally end up removing a significant amount of hair. Or something. Unplugging the modem really, really helps me stay focused, which I suppose is a good thing to know. Clumps of words/cat hair combed out of my novel daily! Woot! And an extra large clump this past Saturday, which was our day-long writing retreat.

Happy poetry news:

  • two of my folklore poems just appeared in Goblin Fruit's summer issue

  • one of my Scotland poems will appear in the upcoming issue of Lady Churchill's Rosebud Wristlet out now in e-edition and due out on pulped tree product imminently

  • two poems just appeared in the British journal, Dream Catcher and are on their way to me but I haven't seem them yet. They are also on pulped tree product
